DIY Bow Rings

A few weeks ago, one of my teachers gave me a big roll of copper wire to make something with, and I decided I wanted to make rings. That wire didn't work very well because it hadn't been annealed and it wasn't soft enough to make rings. After I got the right materials. it worked out really well. I ended up making a few different types and sold some at a Maker's Faire. One of my favourites was the bow ring, so I decided to share how I made them!

So, to start out, I wrapped 18 gauge wire around my LaurDIY ring mandrel at the size I wanted. (Isn't the mandrel adorable? My pliers match it!)

After that, I use round -nose pliers and loop one wire, and then the second one. It should start to resemble a bow.

Finally, take the tail of the upper loop, and wrap it under, then over. After that you can trim your tails and file them.
