In my last post, I mentioned wearing clothes that were too tight or too baggy, and why it's important to avoid both of those. Today I wanna explain how you can decide if it fits well. Overall, the best way to decide if something fits is if you're comfortable in it, but that doesn't always apply.

For tops, you should pay attention to where it is and isn't tight. Personally, I prefer my tops to fit in the shoulder area, loosen up just a bit, and then fit snugly in my hip or waist area. I think it's very flattering for my body. However, some people may prefer something that fits in the chest area and comes out in a flowy manner. Others may like a sort of bubble top, that is elasticated on the bottom hem, but very flowy above that. Anything can look great as long as it fits! Your top shouldn't be so loose that you loose whatever figure you might have, but it also shouldn't be so tight that it fits like a second skin. If you have a top that doesn't fit you ideally, you can play with the way you wear it. I like to french tuck any shirts that I feel drown me out. If it's too long in the back, I usually tuck the whole shirt in, and keep it loose. I also like to knot my shirts if I'm wearing high-waisted pants. Both styles look especially good with mom jeans! You should also be concerned with whether your shirt falls or slips. If its too big in the chest area, you might find a way to shorten the straps or take the shirt in. If you happen to have a high quality piece you love that doesn't fit, you can always get it tailored!

Finding pants that fit can be a little trickier. Your pants should be fitted from your waist to the lower half of your thighs. Depending on the type of pant, the bottom length style might change. They style of jeans you wear can also help the way they fit, so be very picky. Honestly, jeans should be an investment. Don't be afraid to spend a little more if it's a pair that fits well . Cheap jeans can be easily worn out or stretched after a few wears. Jeggings are also something to be wary of, but if they fit you well, I say go for it! Wear what you're comfortable in. The length of your pants can be a little tricky too. I have a friend that always wears ankle jeans, because regular skinny jeans are too long for your legs. I think this is an amazing way to work around being shorter! You can always find jeans that work for your height or you can hem some you already have. Don't be afraid to cuff your jeans! It's a totally cute way to pull off jeans that are too long (or short).

When it comes to how your clothes fit, it is all personal preference, but it can make or break your whole appearance.
